Download the file in the URL above because it roughly describes my mood these days.
First, I got raped by the flu, leaving me pregnant with sore throat and cough. That was quite an awful-sounding sentence but refer to the song above ok?
Secondly, a really really annoying virus (maybe a backdoor trojan, lollllll yeah what's up with the references today?) hit my computer yesterday, changing all the file extensions. Therefore, everything I boot up my PC, I have to fix the registry (not manually, thank god) so that I can use exe and lnk files. The worst thing is that I can't seem to fix the problem at all, I've tried tons of online scans and downloaded a couple of Anti-Virus programs. Nothing worked. Looks like a reformat is inevitable after I finish my current assignment.
Thank god again, I can use InDesign and the files are still sitting in my HD nice and warm. Going to be a busy next couple of days for me to rush through the remaining work.
Thirdly, I actually don't like complaining in my blog. In fact, I would hate to visit a blog only to see that the latest entry is just basically boring whining. To my defense, I did try to mix things up a bit with a couple of REALLY FUNNY ANAL RAPE references am i rite lol? To my defense #2, my blog is named whinebitchmoan so it kinda gives me the permission to whine about stuff.
In fact, I was reading my old entries and my God, I blogged like an unfunny prick. It pains me just to read through the bleeding, convulsing pile of aborted jokes, vocabulary and grammar. It's not like I'm GRANDMASTER OF HUMOUR AND EVERYTHING LAUGHS-RELATED, MR ARTHUR FAN NEE MAN but I think I was worse. Wonder how some of you are still reading this blog.
Then..my music preferences, nothing that I would really regret about other than my obsessive gay love for Yellowcard (Hey I still enjoy a couple of their songs from time to time. *Does a YC sign with my fingers*) but still, it has changed a bit) Let's see...in an old July 2004 entry, I mentioned about liking My Chemical Romance's "I'm Not Okay" for that day. I would never make it through that song nowadays, too loud and screamy for my old aging ear drums. No lah, not the volume, just not into that kind of music nowadays. Let me see if I can do a timeline on how my music tastes evolved (or devolved am i rite). But I'm so lazy to start up Photoshop or Illustrator now so an all-text, bandwidth-saving version will suffice.
1997: Spice Girls and Michael Learns to Rock. Eh, don't tell me you listened to Rancid back then.
1998: I bought this HORRIBLE CD filled with Europop, techno and other assorted electronic crap music made specially for World Cup 98. And I brought it to EVERY class party, which consisted of sitting down eating cold finger food while talking about how funny doodled PETS text books are. Come on, I know you drew a moustache on Gopal so that he would look more Indian. (not racist, sorry vek) Actually, they only played (EVERY time) that Ricky Martin song (go go go ale ale ale). Hmmm the spelling seems weird, looks more like a song cheering on alcholic drinks now but anyway, that was pretty embarrassing to look back on.
1999: Started listening to the more sophisticated sounds of Interpol, Muse and Sonic Youth. Just kidding of course. I remember really liking Boyzone back then, even buying their best hits compilation CD....and loving it....a lot. Then Stephen Gately came out of the closet and my slightly effeminate (but who am I to insult others now, oh karma, who wouldn't you screw up) friend went "Oh dear, have you heard? Stephen Gately from your favourite boyband admitted that he's gay. More like Stephen Gayly now right?" But he was a great guy, also listened to Smashing Pumpkins back in primary 6. +200 underground credits for him. 1,000 credits can be exchanged for a rise in rank to "emo apprentice". That didn't make a lot of sense did it?
2000-2001: I think I grew up a little here. I remember listening to the radio religiously every day and liking Everclear, Third Eye Blind, Foo Fighters and Fastball. Oh public radio, why can't we go back to the happier times that we've had? I remember that it's from here onwards that I started branching out to modern rock. Then I got my break into "punk" music through New Found Glory with their "Glory of love" cover. I think everyone got started with NFG, they're like the initiation test for punk music. "If you can stomach our shitty vocals and lyrics, then you're ready for pop-punk!"
2002-2003: I discovered many many bands like Fall Out Boy, Yellowcard, Rufio, Unwritten Law and Saves The Day earlier in the year. Then, it was the onslaught of post-hardcore/emo with bands such as Taking Back Sunday (they used to be good before contributing songs to EVERY SINGLE movie OST that comes out nowadays), Finch, The Used, Senses Failed, From Autumn To Ashes, My Chemical Romance. The songs were good because you know, I could relate to them :emo: However, you can only listen to such wrist-cuttingly depressing music for so long before wanting happier stuff. Then came in third-wave ska! Catch 22! Less Than Jake! Buck-O-Nine! Five Iron Frenzy! Lots of exclamation marks!!! To represent happiness in music!!! Also, because I got my iRiver 128MB in 2002, I listened to music even more. Nothing like sleeping on the 172 to school while listening to Taking Back Sunday and wondering why my life sucks. So emo.
2004-2005: The majority of my music is still pop-punk and ska but female-fronted punk slowly makes it way into my playlist, maybe I'm turning lesbian. I used to detest listening to female vocals in punk music but they're not so bad now. The Soviettes, Spice Girls, Dance Hall Crashers, Even In Blackouts, Save Ferris.
Okay I'm really tired now, it's 4.30 in the morning for god's sake. And I'm supposed to be sick. See you, thanks to my royal readers who have made it through the past one year++ of shitty writing and unnecessary whining.
edit: Almost forgot to post this.

Cutest things EVER. This kid is going to grow up to be such a little jerk. Or wait, is it a girl?
Got it from the SomethingAwful forums. I'm acknowledging the sources now, mysterious bitter SA goon-man who went all menstrual on me in the comments section of a really old entry.
