Now, this is the part where I pretend to be listening

Today's jujitsu was pretty good. Beat this guy who everyone thinks is my brother because we apparently look alike. Pity him though, I was guarding against him the whole time pretty comfortably then I moved on to a triangle choke when he was tired. Couldn't choke him fast enough so I got his arm, pushed it down on my thigh and voila! Got him to tap via an armbar.

Not like more than 2 of you got what the above paragraph means, ok anyway. Pretty OK week, had fun in school, doing some stupid stuff in our Mac studios like playing mantrain with the chairs and acting homosexual and whatnot with each other, just to gross the girls out. Yes, I was really acting. But my assignments, oh my, I'm royally screwed. It's due on Monday and I have to rush through it this weekend.

And I'm pretty sure you guys know who's Bananaman/Watermelon/whatever on Singapore Idol and I kinda know him, even though it's just online. Cool guy, he wore a bra as a mask during the SARS outbreak and actually went out with it. Attention whore or just a really fun guy? Up to you to decide. And it's very amazing how much publicity and overnight-fame he is getting. Big props to him for thinking of the idea in the first place.

And the lemon tree guy is my hero. I was literally rolling around laughing like a lunatic when I was watching it with Charmian. Singapore Idols made me laugh harder than any local comedies (Durian King was decent but living with Lydia...-shudders-) could.

Onto music, Yellowcard did a cover of Lagwagon's "Violins" and it sounds great. The song was released on the album "Rock Against Bush Vol. 2" which is basically a compilation of songs about going against George Bush (or anti-authority or anti-government, whichever you like). Other more famous bands which contributed includes Green Day and No Doubt.

And bands covering older songs usually end up in goodness. These are the ones that I like.

The Get Up Kids - Close to me (The Cure cover)
Codeseven - Boys Of Summer (Don Henley cover)
Rise Against - Anyway you want it (Journey cover)

The last 2 songs are absolute must-gets, AWESOME covers, sounding even better than the originals. The first one is just "good" not "AWESOME SHIT OH MY GOD" the last two are, so it's still worth downloading.

Somehow I got the feeling that there are more to blog about but I will just stop here. See you all.

Wow, I was choked out like never before today. In jujitsu today, this black belt just kept finding ways to choke the living hell out of me from almost any position. And the chokes were PRETTY FREAKING DAMN effective, the kind that would make you immediately make you tap once they're applied. Man, I was left wheezing after every choke. But the other fight was better, it was with someone just slightly a couple of months my senior and I managed to choke him out one time and then after that it was all ------------------- both of us were too exhausted to seriously do any offense. And for some reason, my shoulders hurt VERY badly after that, it's still quite sore now.

These few days were pretty bad, no appetite, had that pretty depressed look on my face the whole time. I tried to have fun with my classmates, I would laugh like crazy, I would forget my present troubles but then after that, I would be reminded. Everything reminded me of her. I would tear up on bus rides, while eating, while talking to others. I don't know what Sunday will bring. I've never felt so shitty before.

Alright, anyway, went back to Bukit Panjang to collect my O levels cert and something which the school gave me for scoring 7 distinctions (yes, not lying). I was expecting a voucher or something, even a Popular voucher will be cool. OKAY, I got a freaking ugly plague (not the disease, the wooden shield thingy with name and stuff). Alright, it wouldn't look so bad if not for the horrible logo of my secondary school. The designer just threw 2 of the most clashing colours, green and red in and mashed everything up and produced something that looked roughly like what you find when you clear your sink.

Yeah, and SOME PEOPLE just plain fucking suck. They actually have the fucking cheeks to blame me after what they've done. Maybe doing a full story on it soon, not now, so tired. So afraid.

This doesn't count as communicating I hope. It's just one-way. I miss you. Please stay.

More useless but cool information that you may or may not care about...

Long stuff but really interesting, read the whole thing

- When I was a kid I saw Dolphins on the Discovery channel and how they would ram sharks with their snouts if their babies were in harm's way. I found out several years ago that this is not true. Due to some specialized acoustics research I was involved in, I was privvy to find out that we now know Dolphins have a sensory organ in their forehead that is able to sense the vibrational rate of internal organs of other animals. If this doesn't sound amazing, let me eleborate.

The Navy has been doing research on acoustics weapons and has been studying Dolphins to find out more on how this sensory organ works. When threatened, it takes a Dolphin about 8-15 seconds to find the exact frequency of the beating heart inside the shark. Opposite frequencies cancel each other, and a Dolphin is capable of delivering this exact sound. They can't send it through the water though - the sound is too muffled by the time it reaches the shark. And now what we know is that they don't ram the shark with their snout, what they do is touch the shark with their forehead, and only with enough pressure to give solid bone conduction (sound transfers through solids 20x better than through air). The tap is light, and when their forehead is in contact with th shark, they emit a high pitched sound that is the exact opposite of the vibratory rate of the cells in the heart of the shark. This causes the shark's heart to explode, and it dies instantly.

- Some interesting "facts" about Cleopatra, you know, that Egyptian queen:
- Cleopatra was married to her own brother.
- Cleopatra also had inverted nipples (which she put rocks inside to make them stick out as normal)
- She also masturbated using a jar of bees as a vibrator. (Please don't ask me how, I'm as confused as you are)

- Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia is the 'fear of long words.' (Cruelty at its finest)

Alright.

And thanks to Joash for accompanying me to the Adelphi to repair the mp3 player and then to walk around Peninsular Plaza for fun. And then to Raffles City more or less to watch people. And yes, there's a lot of gay people, thanks to Ash's incredible gay-dar (pun on radar omglol im the kind of humoursdfsdjipojdsio). No offense of course, kind of sad that they are so much more unaccepted socially by the public than lesbians. Charmian's theory was that it's because girls are more emotional so it's okay for them to be close to each other but guys being close to each other is just not right. Makes sense but hmmm, leave it up to the rest of you to decide.

Then I was in this toilet cubicle and saw this "conversation" written on the wall. Something about this guy insulting gay people and there was this whole paragraph about how that guy is a "narrow-minded individual" brought up with a "pathetic education system". That's a lot of angst.

Anyway, we saw this group of rudeboys, all wearing 50s-60s style clothings. Hat + Black Suit + A-little-too-short long pants showing socks. Pretty cool sight. For people not in the know, rudeboys, according to what I know, are hardcore ska fans who dress up like that...for godknowswhat sake la. Why dress up as a music stereotype? Blings-blings + Jerseys + Bandanas + More blings-blings look ridiculous enough on the people who started dressing like that, what makes you think that you, some puny Chinese guy, can look good with that?

Anyway, downloaded a couple of songs, you should try listening if you're into this kind of music:

- Taking Back Sunday - A Decade Under The Influence
(Typical TBS music style, not surprised if Perfect 10 picks them up)

- The Suicide Machines - Your Silence
(Really strong song that just grabs your throat and starts punching your head the second you start listening to it, great drumming at the beginning too)
